Opening Night: Saturday, October 12

James Moran is one bad motherf&*%er.

Moran’s Pub is planning a special themed pop-up honoring “Pulp Fiction,” the Quentin Tarantino classic that turns 30 later this month. The popup debuts Saturday, October 12, paying homage to the October 14, 1994, release date of the film.

Opening night will give patrons the first chance to enjoy themed displays throughout the pub, including ones celebrating Butch Coolidge, Bruce Wills’ boxer character, and the movie’s famous “hammer-baseball bat-chainsaw-sword” pawn shop weapons scene. Customers also can enjoy themed food like a Big Kahuna Burger. The Great Lakes Distillery drink menu includes draft cocktails named “Marvin” and “Honey Bunny.”

A portion of proceeds from every themed food, drink, and Pub Fiction merchandise sold will be donated to the Association for Frontotemporal Degeneration, in recognition of the neurological illness suffered by Willis. FTD is the most common form of dementia for people under 60, and the movie star was diagnosed in 2023.

Events Schedule

  • October 12: Grand Opening, including DJ Brian Damage sampling classic “Pulp Fiction” tunes and the introduction of the cocktail and food menu. Facebook event
  • October 19: “Pulp Fiction” dance off and dramatic reading of the famous “path of a righteous man” verse by movie character Jules Winnfield (Samuel L. Jackson)

“I’m a huge fan of Pulp Fiction from when I watched it twice at the cinema growing up in England, and I want to share that love with the patrons of Moran’s Pub as we pay homage 30 years after its release,” owner James Moran said. “This will be fun, whether you love the movie or not. And, no, I have no plans to get medieval on your ass.”
